ISO 4064-2 Water meters for cold potable water and hot water – Part 2: Test Methods

This part of ISO 4064|OIML R 49 is applicable to the type evaluation and intial vertification testing of water meters for cold potable water and hot water as defined in ISO 4064-1:2012|OIML R 49-1:2013. OIML Certificates of Conformity can be issued for water meters under the scope of the OIML Certificate System, provided that this part of ISO 4064|OIML R 49, ISO 4064-1:2014|OIML R 49-1:2013 and ISO 4064-3:2014|OIML R 49-3:2013 are used in accordance with the rules of the system.

This part of ISO 4064|OIML R 49 sets out details of the test programme, principles, equipment and procedures to be used for the type evaluation, and initial verification of a meter type.

8.2.1 Object of the test is to verify that a water meter complies with the provisions of ISO 4064-1:2014|0IML R 49-1:2013, 4.2,during the application of high ambient temperatures as in ISO 4064-1:2014|0IML R 49-1:2013, Table A.1.

8.3.1 Object of the test is to verify that a water meter complies with the provisions of ISO 4064-1:2014|0IML R 49-1:2013, 4.2,during the application of low ambient temperatures as in ISO 4064-1:2014|0IML R 49-1:2013, Table A.1.

8.4.1Object of the test is to verify that a water meter complies with the provisions of ISO 4064-1:2014|0IML R 49-1:2013 clause 5.1.1, after applying conditions of high humidity, combined with cyclic temperature changes as in ISO 4064-1:2014|0IML R 49-1:2013, Table A.5.

Measure:
LISUN GDJS-015 B Temperature Humidity Chamber | Thermal Chamber | Climate Chamber simulate different climatic conditions, such as heat-endurance, cold endurance, dryness-endurance and humidity-endurance which defines the performance of material.  By testing the product under different climatic conditions to see whether its performance can meet the intended requirements. 8.5.2 Water meters powered by direct AC or by AC/DC converters & 8.5.3 Water meters powered by external voltage or by primary DC batteries

8.5.2.1 Object of the test
To verify that electronic devices which operate at a nominal value of mains voltage, Unom, at a nominal frequency, fnom, comply with the provisions of ISO 4064-1:2014|0IML R 49-1:2013, 4.2, during static deviations of the AC (single phase) mains power supply, applied in accordance with the requirements of ISO 4064-1:2014|0IML R 49-1:2013, A.5.

8.5.3.1 Object of the test
To verify that a water meter complies with the provisions of ISO 4064-1:2014|OIML R 49-1:2013, 4.2during static deviations of the DC power supply voltage, applied in accordance with the requirements of ISO 4064-1:2014|0IML R 49-1:2013, A.5.

8.6 Vibration

8.6.1 Object of the test
To verify that a water meter complies with the provisions of ISO 4064-1:2014|OIML R 49-1:2013, 5.1.1, after the application of random vibrations(see ISO 4064-1:2014|OIML R 49-1:2013, A.1. The test is applicable only to meters for mobile installations(environmental class M)

Measure:

It can measure Sine Wave, Frequency Modulation, Sweep Frequency, Programmable, Frequency Doubling, Logarithm, High Acceleration speed, Amplitude Modulation, Time Control, Full-function Computer Control, simple and easy to set the acceleration and amplitude.

8.7 Mechanical shock

8.7.1 Object of test

To vertify that a water meter complies with the provisions of ISO 4064-1:2014|OIML R 49-1:2013, 5.1.1, after the application of the mechanical shock test(dropping on to face) as in ISO 4064-1:2014|OIML R 49-1:2013, Table A.1. 

This test is applicable only to meters for mobile installations(environmental class M). 

Following the testing arrangements specified in IEC 60068-2-31 and IEC60068-2-47.

Test Solution:
LISUN LS-DDT1-B Rotating Barrel Drop Test Machine | Roller Drum Drop Tester is according to IEC 60068-2-31 Annexe A (instead IEC 60068-2-32), IEC 60884-1 Clause 24.3 standard of the “mechanical strength” test requirements, it is related terms requirements are designed to evaluate the downside of the attachment of electrical attachments performance.

8.8.1 Object of the test
To verify that a mains powered water meter complies with the provisions of ISO 4064-1:2014|OIML R 49-1:2013, 5.1.1, during the application of short time, mains volrage interruptions and reductions as in ISO 4064-1:2014|OIML R 49-1:2013 Table A.1

8.9.1 Object of the test
To verify that a water meter containing electronics and provided with input/output (I/O)and communication ports (including its external cables) complieswith the provisions ofISO 4064-1:20140IML R 49-1:2013, 5.1.1, under conditions where electrical bursts are superimposedon I/0 and communication port as in ISO 4064-1:20140IML R 49-1:2013, Table A.1.

8.10.1 Object of the test
To verify that the EUT containing electronics and powered by AC or DC mains voltage, complies with the provisions of ISO 4064-1:2014|0IML R 49-1:2013, 5.1.1, under conditions where electrical bursts are superimposed on the mains voltage as inISO 4064-1:20140IML R 49-1:2013, Table A.1.

Measure:
The EFT61000-4 EFT immunity tester is especially designed according to the characteristics and requirements of EFT measurement and it is an ideal disturbance source of EMS measurement. 8.11 Electrostatic discharge

8.11.1 Object of the test
To verify that a water meter complies with the provisions of ISO 4064-1:2014|0IML R 49-1:2013, 5.1.1, during the application of direct and indirect electrostatic discharges as in ISO 4064-1:2014|0IML R 49-1:2013, Table A.1.

Measure:
LISUN ESD61000-2 The ESD generator is designed for the withstanding ESD performance measurement for the assessment of electrical and electronic equipment. ESD61000-2/ESD61000-2A has a LCD touch screen in both English and Chinese. 

Electrostatic discharge simulator is highest electrostatic voltage can be up to 30 kv, which is enough to cover the most severe standard grade of electrostatic voltage requirement (the voltage requirements of the grade 4 air discharge electrostatic is 15 KV). The ESD test gun can be used for the most of electrical and electronic equipment for electrostatic discharge test, and also can ensure comparability and reproducibility of test.

8.12 Radiated electromagnetic fields

8.12.1 Object of the test
To verify that a water meter complies with the provisions of ISO 4064-1:2014|0IML R 49-1:2013, 5.11,during the application of radiated electromagnetic fields as in ISO 4064-1:2014|0IML R 49-1:2013, Table A.1. Test fully follow the IEC61000-4-3.

Measure:

8.13 Conducted electromagnetic fields

8.13.1 Object of the test
To verify compliance with the provisions of ISO 4064-1:2014|0IML R 49-1:2013, 5.11, during the application of conducted electromagnetic fields as in ISO 4064-1:2014|0IML R 49-1:2013, Table A.1. Test fully meet the standard IEC61000-4-6.

Measure:
RFCI61000-6 Conducted Immunity Test System includes a built-in signal source, a power amplifier and power meter module, a variety of coupling decoupled network (CDN), electromagnetic clamp and current injection clamp developed by external attenuator by LISUN. It is widely used in medical, power, industrial control, new energy charging piles, communication piles and ect for industries. 

8.14 Surges on signal, data and control lines & 8.15 Surges on AC and DC mains power lines

8.14.1 Object of the test
To verify that a water meter complies with the requirements in ISO 4064-1:2014|0IML R 49-1:2013, 5.11, under conditions where electrical surges are superimposed on I/0 and communication ports are in ISO 4064-1:2014|0IML R 49-1:2013, Table A.1.

8.15.1 Object of the test
To verify that a water meter complies with the requirements in ISO 4064-1:2014|0IML R 49-1:2013, 5.11, under conditions where electrical surges are superimposed on the mains voltage as in ISO 4064-1:2014|0IML R 49-1:2013, Table A.1. Follow the testing arrangements specified in IEC 61000-4-5.

Measure:
LISUNSG61000-5 surge generator provides a common basis for evaluating the resistance of power cords and internal connectors of different equipment to high energy transient interference caused by natural lightning surge induction and large capacity load switching. If fully meet the standard ISO 4064-1:2014 Clause 8.14 & 8.15. It should work together with LISUN CDN61000-5C Series Coupling Decoupling Network for Communication Lines is fully meet IEC 61000-4-5, EN 61000-4-5, GB/T 17626.5, ITU-T K.45, ITU-T K.21 and ITU-T K.20, it output surge waveform are Combine wave (1.2/50μs and 8/20μs) and CCITT wave (10/700μs and 5/320μs). CDN61000-5C Series can works with LISUN SG61000-5 Series Surge Generator to test all of the communication lines, signal wires and control cables.
