Lighting surge generator provides a common basis for evaluating the resistance of power cords and internal connectors of different equipment to high energy transient interference caused by natural lightning surge induction and large capacity load switching. It fully meets the IEC 61000-4-5, EN61000-4-5 and GB/T17626.5 standards. Here we talk about the surge generator working principle.
1. The basic performance of the integrated wave lighting surge generator of 1.2/50μs (voltage wave) and 8/20μs (current wave) for simulating the power line test:
Open circuit voltage wave: 1.2/50μs;
Short-circuit current wave: 8/20μs;
Open circuit output voltage (peak value): 0.5KV~4KV;
Short-circuit output current (peak value): 0.25KA~2KA;
Generator internal resistance: 2Ω;
Surge output polarity: positive/negative;
Surge phase shift range: 0°~360°;
Maximum repetition rate: at least 1 time per minute.
2. The basic performance requirements of the 10/700μs lighting surge generator used in the communication line test are:
Open circuit peak output voltage: 0.5KV~4KV
Dynamic internal resistance: 40Ω
Output polarity: positive/negative
For the test on the power line, it is done through the “coupling and decoupling network”. There are two modes of coupling:
Common mode: Coupling interference between live wire or neutral wire and ground.
Differential mode: Coupling interference between live wire and neutral wire.
