IEC 61032 Test Probe D (Figure 4, Straight Design) – Accessibility Test Finger is built for IP4X protection and electric shock prevention testing of household and similar electrical appliances. It features a 1.0mm-diameter rigid test rod (100mm long) to simulate tool access, paired with a 35mm circular baffle that stops over-insertion into enclosures. The insulating handle (10mm diameter, 100mm length) ensures safe operation, and it applies a precise 1±0.1N thrust—key for verifying hazardous parts stay inaccessible. Note: It has no cable; a cabled version is available for low-voltage testing. Aligned with global standards, it’s reliable for compliance checks.
Specifications:
• Probe Type: IEC 61032 Test Probe D (straight, no cable for IP4X testing)
• Test Rod Diameter: 1.0 mm (rigid for consistent access simulation)
• Test Rod Length: 100 mm ± 0.2 mm
• Circular Baffle Diameter: 35 mm ± 0.2 mm (prevents excessive enclosure insertion)
• Handle Dimensions Diameter: 10 mm; Length: 100 mm
• Handle Material: Insulating material (for user safety during testing)
• Cable Inclusion: None (cabled version available for low-voltage hazard verification)
• Applied Thrust: 1±0.1N (precise force for standard compliance)
• Core Function: Verifies IP4X protection; blocks tool access to hazardous live/mechanical parts
Test Procedures:
• Inspect the probe (rod, baffle, handle) for damage (e.g., bent rod, cracked handle).
• Place the 35mm baffle flush against the appliance’s enclosure surface.
• Align the 1.0mm rod with enclosure openings (e.g., vents, gaps).
• Apply steady 1±0.1N thrust to the rod toward potential hazardous parts.
• Check if the rod touches hazards or the baffle enters the enclosure.
• Record whether the appliance meets safety requirements (pass/fail).
Applications:
• IP4X protection testing of household appliances (e.g., washing machines, coffee makers) per IEC 61032 Figure 4.
• Electric shock prevention checks for audio/video devices (e.g., soundbars, TVs).
• Access protection verification for luminaire housings (e.g., pendant lights).
• UL 60335-1:2023 compliance testing for small kitchen appliances (e.g., toaster ovens).
• Safety checks for portable electronics (e.g., power banks) to block tool access to internal hazards.
