Product No: SMT-SB0504A
SMT-SB0504A is desinged according to standard UL 749 Figure 9.2 Knife Probe SB0504A. It is a dedicated instrument for household dishwasher protective testing, an essential test instrument to detect the safety performance of the relevant home appliance products. The handle is made of Nylon and probe is made of stainless steel. It features a thin, rigid stainless steel knife-shaped tip—designed to access tight crevices (e.g., panel seams, switch gaps) that standard probes can’t reach—while verifying if hazardous live parts or moving components remain inaccessible.
Specifications:
Probe Type: SB0504A Knife Probe (UL 749 Fig 9.2 compliant for industrial control equipment)
Probe Material: Stainless steel
Handle Material: Nylon (fully insulating, heat-resistant, non-slip for controlled force application)
Key Dimensions:
– Probe Length: 127 mm ( 5 inches )
– Probe Thickness: 0.81 mm ( 0.032 inches )
Test Procedures:
1. Inspect the probe for damage (e.g., bent knife tip, cracked handle) and confirm structural integrity.
2. Power on the industrial control equipment and let it reach normal operating mode.
3. Hold the insulating handle and align the knife tip with target narrow gaps (e.g., panel edges, button slots).
4. Apply steady to the probe—maintain force for 5 seconds to simulate sustained contact.
5. Check if the tip touches any hazardous components (e.g., exposed wiring, relay parts).
6. Record whether the equipment meets safety requirements (pass/fail).
Applications:
1. Safety testing of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) cabinets (per UL 749:2023 Fig 4) to block gap access to live circuits.
2. Verification of industrial sensor enclosures (e.g., pressure/temperature sensors) for narrow-gap hazard protection.
3. Quality control for factory automation control panels during manufacturing for U.S. markets.
4. Post-production audits of industrial power distribution units (PDUs) to meet UL 749 safety standards.
