  • The Jointed Test Finger is a precision test probe made according to UL 1703 Figure 15.1. It is also used by the standards of CSA, IRAM, IECand in most of the rules involved in the verification of accessibility to live parts.

    Technical Parameters:

    1. Knurled Finger Diameter: 12 mm

    2. Knurled Finger Length: 80 mm

    3. Baffle Plate Diameter: 50 mm

    4. Baffle Plate Length: 100 mm

    5. Baffle thickness: 20 mm

    The probe illustrated in Figure shall be applied to any depth that the opening will permit; and shall be rotated or angled before, during, and after insertion through the opening to any position that is necessary to examine the product. The probe shall be applied in any possible configuration; and, if necessary, the configuration shall be changed after insertion through the opening. The probe is to be used as a measuring instrument to judge the accessibility provided by an opening, and not as an instrument to judge the strength of a material; as such, it is to be applied with the minimum force necessary to accurately determine accessibility.
